Privacy Policy

Effective 4 October 2026. AI Summify works without an account. It processes page text, selected text, and the source URL only after you accept the first-use privacy prompt and choose an action. That content, the action you chose, and its options pass through our Cloudflare Worker gateway to the 9Router service running on AI Summify's VPS, which routes each request to an upstream AI model provider (routing may vary) to generate your answer.

Account-free operation

This release has no account, sign-in, or bring-your-own-key (BYOK) option. The Mac app and its Safari extension share one random install ID on this Mac. Our server stores only a salted one-way hash of it, used for your free daily uses, purchased balances, and abuse prevention.

What we process and why

Content you submit: page or selected text, title, URL, and the action you chose. It is used only to produce the answer you asked for. We do not keep a server-side copy of page text or generated answers, and there is no result cache.
Anonymous install ID: stored on our server only as a salted one-way hash; the raw ID is not stored in our database.
Network hash: a salted one-way hash derived from network information, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your IP address in our database.
Usage counts: the number of uses per install per day, kept to enforce the daily limit.
Purchases: Apple processes every payment. When you buy a credit pack or Pro subscription in the Mac app, AI Summify receives Apple's signed transaction and your install ID so it can verify the purchase and apply it to this Mac. We keep only the transaction and entitlement records needed for credit accounting and subscription status, and never receive payment-card details.
Reports: if you report an answer, we receive its request ID and the reason you choose.

We do not sell data, show ads, track you across apps or websites, or collect browsing history in the background. Server logs exclude request bodies.

Usage statistics. To learn which features work and where people get stuck, the Mac app, the Safari extension and our server send anonymous usage events to AI Summify's own analytics service (analytics.aisummify.com): for example which screen or button was used, which mode and model were chosen, the app version and operating system, how long a summary took, a size range of the input (never its text), error codes, the country, and purchase and restore steps (product identifier and result only). These events carry a one-way hash of the installation ID, not your name, e-mail, page text, page titles, URLs, selected text or answers, and they are not linked to your identity. We do not use them for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Like any internet request, they reveal a network address to the service while being received. Events are also forwarded to a private Discord channel used only by the AI Summify owner to monitor the app. To stop them, stop using the app or write to privacy@aisummify.com.

Service providers

Cloudflare (edge hosting and rate limiting), Discord (private owner channel for usage events), Supabase (database for usage counts and purchase records), 9Router running on AI Summify's VPS, the upstream AI model providers it selects (including Google Gemini as a backup), and Apple (App Store distribution and payments). Their processing locations and terms may vary.

Your choices

You can revoke AI-sharing permission from the extension popup, stop using the extension, or revoke its website access in Safari Settings. Removing AI Summify deletes its local settings. Usage counts and purchases are not linked to your name, email, or account. If you created an account in an earlier version and want it and its data deleted, or for any other privacy request, contact privacy@aisummify.com. AI output may be inaccurate; verify important information.
